MOM: For the parents, just one more thing: make a journal. I have a journal that I make- a notebook- where I write down all the doctors' names, all their pager numbers, the phone numbers, put in the referral numbers when you get them from your insurance, your insurance card numbers, your blue card numbers from the hospital. Write down all the names of your prescriptions, all the ones: the ones that don't work, the ones that do work, everything. Keep that with you, and every time you come to the hospital, bring that book with you. So when they say, "What medications were you on?" you can have that with you. Get all the information. Every doctor that they refer you to, bring the book with you; it will help you. For past doctors that you say, "Oh, did you see this? When did you see him? What's the day? What was the last time, if you have it?" Everything, because they'll want to refer you to someone; I already saw this doctor. "What did they say?" "This is what they said." I made this and believe me, it comes in handy.
